Helen
Somewhere along the way, we learned not to want too much.
We learned to keep our dreams modest. To make our goals “reasonable.” To call small visions wisdom and bold ones greed.
We were taught—quietly, relentlessly—that wanting more could cost us love, connection, or femininity. That asking for more money made us arrogant. That desiring wealth made us dangerous.
And so many brilliant, capable women walk through life with metaphorical wings tucked tightly against their backs—moving through hallways far too narrow for who they truly are. Not because the world is still holding them back… But because they’ve internalized the belief that reaching higher is somehow wrong.
This is what my mentor Dr. Claire Zammit calls the Expectations Gap. Not laziness. Not lack of ambition. But generations of inherited silence telling us: “Don’t dream too big. Be grateful. Be quiet. Stay small.”
The Result?
-
Setting income goals far below your potential
-
Choosing “safe” offers or price points over aligned ones
-
Downplaying success to be more relatable or accepted
-
Avoiding visibility for fear of outshining others
-
Settling for enough… when your soul longs for overflow
But here’s the truth:
Your desires are sacred. Your big dreams are not excessive—they’re evidence of what’s possible through you.
Wealth doesn’t take from others. It expands the field. And your permission to dream bigger gives others permission too.
So here’s your invitation:
-
Unfold your wings.
-
Write the real number.
-
Make the real ask.
-
Envision the extraordinary life—not the safe one.
Because shrinking doesn’t serve the world. And settling doesn’t serve your soul.
Power Statement: “I was born to dream big. My desires are sacred—and expanding my expectations is how I honor the life I came here to live.”
Standing for your Greatness!
