Helen

I’ve been thinking lately about the invisible rules that shape our lives—especially around money.

The ones we never consciously agreed to… but somehow still find ourselves following.

Let me start with a moment from my own story.

I was born and raised in Uganda. And by many standards, my family was privileged. My father was a pastor. We had a Land Rover. We had food, education, and safety.

But right outside our door? Poverty was everywhere.

At 14, I was sent to an all-girls boarding school. In Senior One—yes, like Harry Potter—some of my classmates were wearing shoes for the first time. That memory stayed with me.

Years later, I had moved to the U.S., done therapy, read the books, and started my coaching journey. And still, I noticed something strange: I was unconsciously capping my income at around $3,800 a month—the average annual income back home.

Logically, it made no sense. But energetically? It felt real.

That was my cultural glass ceiling. I didn’t choose it. But my nervous system did.

Because receiving more felt like betrayal. Like I was breaking sacred rules I didn’t even know I’d inherited.

And here’s the thing: so many of us are living inside inherited limits around what’s possible. Not because we’re broken or lacking motivation, but because we’ve absorbed unspoken messages from our culture about what’s allowed.

That creates what I call the “field of nonpossibility.” It’s not that we don’t want more—it’s that we don’t even believe it’s available to us. And if it’s not possible, we don’t let ourselves desire it. We don’t ask. We don’t move toward it. We don’t allow.

And the cost is enormous.

We undercharge.
We overgive.
We play small to stay safe.
We stay invisible to feel “aligned.”
We quietly cap our receiving—and then wonder what’s wrong with us.

There’s nothing wrong with us.
We’ve just been conditioned.

But here’s the good news: we can break the rules we never agreed to. We can release the ceilings that were never ours to carry. And we can begin to reclaim our voice, our value, and our wealth—from the inside out.

That’s why I created a free guide and upcoming masterclass for women ready to shift from survival into true authorship. If you have already signed up; THANK YOU!
