If you’ve been in this space for a while…
you’ve probably heard me share openly about my relationship with money.

The ups.
And also the moments that feel stressful, uncertain, or activating.

That’s intentional.

Because I don’t coach from some “I’ve arrived and never struggle” place.

I coach from inside the work.
From what it actually looks like to navigate money in real time.

 

One thing you may have heard me mention is how much I love parts work (IFS).
What you may not know is how I use parts work around money.

I even have a part of me I call Scarcity Sarah.

She’s the one who gets activated when a huge chunk of money leaves my account—especially during tax season.
When income feels uncertain or inconsistent… and I’m not sure if more clients are coming in.
When my expenses are higher than the money coming in.

She’s not logical.
She’s not calm.

She activates my system—and that’s her way of protecting me from perceived (or real) lack.

And honestly… she can be a little loud.

And if you’re being honest,
you probably have your own version of Scarcity Sarah too.

 

Here’s the shift:

The goal isn’t to get rid of that part.

It’s to not let her be the one making your financial decisions.

Because when you’re in that activated state…
everything feels more intense than it actually is.

You start trying to solve money challenges from inside the stress.

And you can’t—because the part of you that can actually solve the problem is offline.

You either overreact… or avoid completely.

 

So the real question becomes:

How do you return to the version of you who can actually handle your finances well?

The version of you who is:
clear
grounded
able to see what’s actually true
and take aligned action

 

That’s the work.

Not solving your money challenges from panic.

But coming back to yourself first—
and then moving from there.
