Have you heard of the saying “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.” 

This applies to our triggers and patterns too

The best time to rewire a pattern is not after the trigger passes.

It’s when the pattern is alive enough to be transformed. 

Because like many people, my instinct when I get emotionally activated is to:

  • figure it out,

  • override it,

  • distract myself,

  • push through,

  • or try to calm down as quickly as possible.

But what if there is a different way?

When an emotional reaction is fully activated inside the nervous system, the pattern becomes more available for updating.

Which means the moment of activation itself can become the doorway to transformation.

And honestly, I think this is where so many women get stuck around money.

A trigger happens:

  • a slow sales month,

  • Uncertainty,

  • launching an offer,

  • checking the bank account,

  • Visibility,

  • inconsistent income…

and almost immediately the nervous system reacts.

The mind starts generating catastrophic stories:
• “I’m not safe.”
• “I’m going to fail.”
• “There’s not enough.”
• “I’ll never figure this out.”
• “Everything is falling apart.”

And then most women do what they’ve been conditioned to do:

  • Override,

  • Overwork,

  • Spiral,

  • shut down,

  • Avoid,

  • Numb,

  • or force positivity.

But what if the activation itself contains information that could be updated.

Because underneath the first fear is often a deeper fear.

For example:
“Nobody will sign up for my offer”
may actually mean:
“If this doesn’t work, I won’t be okay.”

That’s a very different nervous system experience.

And once the deeper fear becomes visible, the work changes.

Instead of fighting the reaction,
you begin reprogramming with the nervous system itself.

That’s actually the process I practice.

  1. Notice the trigger

  2. Notice the catastrophic story

  3. Pause instead of overriding

  4. Identify the deeper fear underneath the first fear

  5. Use EFT tapping while the activation is present

  6. Create enough regulation and spaciousness for Self-energy to return

  7. Respond from greater calm, clarity, and groundedness

Here is what you’ll notice

The goal is not to never feel fear.

The goal is to become less blended with fear.

Because when we are fully blended with fear, scarcity feels absolutely true.

But when the nervous system becomes more regulated, something else becomes available:
• calm
• perspective
• creativity
• confidence
• presence
• grounded decision-making

Not because the circumstances instantly changed.

But because the internal state changed.

And that changes how we relate to money, uncertainty, visibility, and ourselves.

The next time you notice yourself becoming emotionally activated around money, pause and ask:

“What is my nervous system afraid this means?”

Then notice:
• the first fear
• the deeper fear underneath it
• what happens in your body
• the story your mind immediately generates
• the behaviors that follow

Then gently remind yourself:

“A part of me is reacting right now.”

That small shift can begin creating more space between you and the fear.
